The Mid North Community Passenger Network extends over four Council areas, being Clare & Gilbert Valleys Council, Regional Council of Goyder, Wakefield Regional Council and Adelaide Plains Council. It extends over 12282 square kilometres from Eudunda, Hamley Bridge and Two Wells, north to Hallett, Spalding and Port Wakefield.
The estimated population of the four Councils is 27912 with approximately 30% being over 60 years of age, being approx 8000. Again transport arrangements need to be cognisant of special needs of the aging population.
There is an extensive community transport scheme working within the Mid North Region, sponsored by the Clare & Gilbert Valleys Council, Regional Council of Goyder, Wakefield Regional Council, Adelaide Plains Council and funded by Passenger Transport Division, Department of Community and Social Inclusion and Commonwealth Home Support Program.
There are 8 cars, located at the following hospitals Clare, Riverton, Burra, Eudunda, Mallalla, Balaklava and Hamley Bridge. We take bookings for the edical bus that goes to Adelaide 4 days a week and for the Intertown Connections Bus that occur on Thursday between Clare and Burra and Riverton (for more details please download the brochures below for each service). The scheme is designed to cater for the transport of disadvantaged people and the aged and infirm. 50 volunteer drivers assist in carrying those eligible, to medical appointments, shopping and other social activities (conditions apply).
Please contact the Co-ordinator for eligibility criteria.
Volunteers are required to keep the scheme operating effectively. If you would like to become a volunteer driver please contact the Co-ordinator, Damien Graham, phone 8842 1677, mobile 0400 691 167 and email cpn@cgvc.sa.gov.au.
