Council is proposing to make changes to the zoning that applies to the Clare township within its Development Plan. This is being done through a Development Plan Amendment (DPA).

The intention of the proposed DPA is to:

  • facilitate greater economic development and employment generation in the town centre by providing greater flexibility and guidance for development;
  • better reflect existing land uses on the ground in certain locations;
  • facilitate tourist accommodation at the golf course;
  • provide opportunities for more diverse housing in proximity to the town centre; and,
  • better manage the visual appearance of land and buildings at the southern approach to the township.
