Ness Street Footpath Renewal

Published 5th March 2024

Clare & Gilbert Valleys Council will soon begin the next part of the Clare Main Street Upgrade.

The new works will involve the renewal of footpaths and kerb and gutters on both sides of Ness Street. The new footpath will be ‘exposed aggregate’ similar to that in some parts of Main North Road.

This work will enhance the appearance of Ness Street and provide improved drainage.

The works will commence on 18 March and are expected to take 4 – 6 weeks, dependent on the weather.

Please note there will be no parking in Ness street for the duration of the works. The YP Coaches bus stop will be temporarily relocated to a location to be determined. Further advice will follow once known.

The contractor will arrange for access to all businesses to be maintained for the duration of the work and traffic controls will be in place. Residents are asked to observe directions given by traffic controllers.

Council appreciate there will be some inconvenience caused by these works and thanks residents and businesses for their patience.
