Section 7 (Full search) and Section 187 (Rates only) Searches
A certificate of title must be provided for full Section 7 searches in order for Council to process the search request.
Council has up to 8 working days to complete a search. We do not offer urgent searches.
A Section 7 (Full Search) search includes:
- Rates certificate (certificate of liabilities) - rates levied for current financial year and any outstanding rates balance
- Health – details of any relevant notices issued
- Development assessment – listing and supporting decision notification forms for approved development applications with ongoing conditions
- Building indemnity insurance (if held by Council)
A Section 187 (Rates only) search includes:
- Rates certificate (certificate of liabilities) - rates levied for current financial year and any outstanding rates balance
Fees and charges (from 1 July 2026)
- Section 7 (Full Search) - $73.25
- Section 187 (Rates only) - $42.75
- If settlement occurs within three months from the date of the original certificate issued to you, you may request a free certificate of liabilities update - Free of charge - please email rates@cgvc.sa.gov.au, attaching original certificate
- Fees apply for new financial year
