Mayor Allan Aughey OAM’s Christmas Message to the Community
As we approach the end of another year I want to acknowledge the strength and spirit of our communities right across the Clare & Gilbert Valleys.
This has been a year of planning for the future with the development underway of our Strategic Plan 2026-2030 bringing community voices together to shape priorities in infrastructure, environment, services, and community wellbeing.
Christmas is always a special time in our towns and villages with local celebrations and gatherings bringing families and neighbours together.
Whether it is a pageant, carols, fairs or community events, these moments of joy reflect the generosity and connection that makes our region such a wonderful place to live. These family-friendly activities have continued to strengthen our sense of belonging across the district.
To our volunteers, service clubs, community groups and council staff I extend my sincere thanks for your dedication throughout the year. Your efforts support vibrancy and resilience in every corner of our region.
